This project proposes three family townhouses on a corner site in Forest Hill. This corner site on a main traffic thoroughfare. Forest Hill is a post war Melbourne suburb characterised by large residential lots and conventional single storey brick (cream) or timber (weatherboard) villas with tile roofs. Now a key part of the neighbourhood character are the mature trees and gardens.

Retain an existing 1950ís brick house and develop two new townhouses in the residual garden, providing 2 cars per house on site.

Design Yield: 3 townhouses with on site car parking.

Some key aspects of the design are:

The design adds two new townhouses to the rear of the existing villa with a two storey modern profile. Walls treatments have an abstract composition of render, timber and metal materials. Passive ESD principles are applied with optimum orientation, natural light and ventilation, high value insulation to walls and roofs, and sun shading. Active ESD technology will include solar panels, AAAA rated water appliances and stormwater harvest with recycle for landscape irrigation.
